Discover tranquility at Damuan Recreational Park, where scenic paths, playgrounds, and stunning views of Istana Nurul Iman create the perfect outdoor retreat.
Damuan Recreational Park, located near Noor Al-Iman Palace in Bandar Seri Begawan, is a notable green space in Brunei. This park spans one kilometer and features a variety of amenities, including playgrounds, walking paths, and a restaurant. One of its key attractions is the ASEAN Square, which showcases sculptures from Brunei and five other ASEAN member states—Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. These sculptures reflect the theme “Harmony in Diversity,” which symbolizes the solidarity and aspirations of ASEAN nations.
Recently, the collection has expanded to include works from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam, making Brunei the first ASEAN member state to have a complete collection of ASEAN sculptures. This initiative highlights the cultural ties among ASEAN nations and promotes mutual respect and peace through art.
For those without access to a private car, we recommend using Dart (think of it as Brunei’s Uber or Grab) which is the most convenient option for traveling in Brunei. While it provides hassle-free booking and convenience, keep in mind that pricing may vary.
