Located near Kampong Ayer, the Malay Technology Museum provides a captivating look at Brunei’s heritage, celebrating the cultural intricacies of local ethnic groups like the Murut, Dusun, Kedayan, and Penan. This museum explores traditional ways of life through detailed exhibits, including life-size model houses, ancestral weaponry, and tools used for hunting, fishing, and crafting. Highlights include reconstructions of Kampong Ayer stilt houses, as well as displays showcasing the technological ingenuity and craftsmanship of Brunei’s past.

For Non-Residents:

  • Adult: $3
  • Children (7-11 years old): $1

For Residents:

  • Free

The entrance fees for the three stated museums shall be exempted for non-residents from the following categories:

  1. Official visits by incoming State Dignitaries, government delegations and/or officials.
  2. Foreign students studying in Brunei Darussalam.
  3. Foreign workers holding a Brunei Darussalam Green Smart Identity Card.

Proof of identity is mandatory to be shown to the staff on duty at the museums’ counters by foreign students and foreign workers residing in Brunei Darussalam prior to exemption from the entrance fees.

Additionally, visitors coming in large groups are advised to purchase the tickets prior to date of planned visit to the museums to ease their movements and comfort.
