Tutong

District
Tutong is the agricultural backbone of the country with paddy fields and crop farms that grow exotic fruits and staple greens.

It is the 3rd largest district in Brunei where the Tutong, Kedayan, Dusun and Iban ethnic groups maintain a large presence, and at the Sungai Basong Recreational Park, you can see an example of a traditional Kedayan and Dusun house. Nature and indigenous culture is Tutong’s main attraction.

The ASEAN heritage park Tasek Merimbun is a sanctuary for wildlife and plants and an important base for scientific research. Its unique black water lake is the largest natural lake in Brunei, and birdwatchers flock here for the chance to spot exotic endemic and migratory birds. Take a river cruise or trek through the heritage park to truly appreciate the enduring beauty of mother nature’s gifts.
